Terms of Service

By accessing or using the PhenoWriters platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Definitions
"Client" means a user who places orders for research, analytics, or writing services. "Expert" means a user who accepts and completes orders. "Order" means a project posted by a Client and completed by an Expert through the platform.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
3. Service Scope
PhenoWriters is a marketplace connecting Clients with subject-matter experts for research, data analysis, technical writing, and publication support. We do not provide academic essay writing or coursework completion services. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order that falls outside our service scope.
4. Order Process
Placement. Clients submit orders through the platform with a description, service type, page count, and deadline. Orders are placed in "pending payment" status until payment is confirmed.
Assignment. Once payment is confirmed, an administrator assigns a suitable Expert. The Client is notified upon assignment.
Completion. The Expert completes the work according to the specifications. The Client may request revisions during the review phase. Upon approval, the order is marked complete.
Cancellation. Orders may be cancelled before an Expert is assigned. After assignment, cancellation is at the discretion of the administrator.
5. Payments
Client payments. All orders must be paid in full before work begins. Payments are processed through Paystack. Prices are displayed in the configured currency and are exclusive of any applicable taxes.
Expert payouts. Experts earn a percentage of the order budget as specified in their account. Payouts are processed monthly for completed and reviewed orders. Experts are responsible for providing accurate payment details.
Credits. Credits are earned on paid orders and may be applied to future orders. Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
6. Expert Obligations
Experts agree to:
- Complete assigned orders with professional competence and within the agreed deadline
- Communicate professionally with Clients through the platform
- Maintain confidentiality of Client project details
- Not subcontract work to third parties without authorization
- Not use the platform to solicit Clients for off-platform work
7. Client Obligations
Clients agree to:
- Provide clear, accurate project specifications
- Make timely payments for all orders
- Communicate respectfully with Experts
- Provide feedback and approval in a timely manner
- Not use the platform to request unlawful or unethical work
8. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment, the Client acquires ownership of the final delivered work product. The Expert retains the right to include the work in their portfolio unless otherwise agreed. PhenoWriters claims no intellectual property rights over the content created through the platform.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent the platform's payment system
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Upload malicious code or content
- Create multiple accounts to avoid restrictions
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform
10. Limitation of Liability
PhenoWriters provides the platform as a marketplace connecting Clients and Experts. We are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or completeness of work delivered by Experts. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including but not limited to fraudulent activity, abuse of the platform, or non-payment. Terminated Experts forfeit any outstanding payout balances at the discretion of the administrator.
12. Modifications
We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be announced through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PhenoWriters operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
